All About The Trinity
by UnDisfellowshipped inwhen jesus was about to die, he showed who his superior was by praying: "father, if you wish, remove this cup from me.
the one god is eternal (has always existed and always will), immortal (his divine nature cannot die), omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (he is everywhere at the same time), god is the only one who can read human hearts and minds, god cannot sin and cannot lie, god does not change his morals or his nature.
the trinity is not one person revealed three different ways (this is what "oneness pentecostals" believe).

Ozziepost,
During Easter both wine and bread are given, but this is not done every Sunday in Canada because of the difficulties associated with it. For example, the cost; the wine must be specially organic. The belief is that the eucharist, under both types of eucharist (bread and wine), contain the "body, blood, soul, and divinity" of Christ. In my parish, some people only take the wine every Sunday after the priest because they cannot have gluten (?).
Yerusalyim, dominus tecum. Yes Rome is a sweet home, and Scott Hahn did have a part to play .

A JW just telephoned me... heh heh heh...
by Quotes init must be the end-of-the-mont-scramble to get time in.
i just got off the phone with a gentleman who, talking approx 1000 words per minute, so that i could almost not understand what he said, identified himself as "navin", and wanted to "share a scripture with me".
he clearly did not know who i am or my history, or my website hobby.

let the dead bury the dead
by galaxy7 insomeone in our community died and i asked the people that study with me if they were going to go.. they said no and quoted a scripture about jesus saying "let the dead bury the dead".
so i took this to mean anyone who is not a witness is considered "dead".
however they said they would attend the tea after the funeral service.. this didnt make any sense to me, why would they eat their food but not pay their respects at the funeral?

When the young man asked for hime to wait until for him to bury his father, among the Jews this basically meant wait until my father dies before I go follow you (at least this is what a Phd. said). So they take the bible out of context, as many do.
It all comes down to hipocrisy; can you imagine how angry the JW would be if the tables were turned?

Dear Heathen,
The mass is a sacrifice and a meal. Just because St. Paul mentions only men, it does not mean that others cannot participate.
He says that "If you are hungry, eat at home, so that when you come together, it will not be for your condemnation. About the other things I will give instructions when I come." (1 Cor. 11:34, NRSV). Therefore the eucharist is not to be thought of as principally a meal, but also something extremely sacred.
You can check out the general text of the Catholic Mass here: http://www.latinliturgy.com/nomass.html
PS: You mentioned that the bread and wine are symbols, where does it say that in the bible?

The fullness of Christian life lies in the transubtantiated bread and wine. The true body and blood of Christ.
Interesting note: Anglicans and Lutherans have something similar to transubtantiation, called consubstantiation. Christ is present in a spiritual way and not a physical way.
Instead of being messy with Greek grammar. Its much better to study the Latin Vulgate of Jerome that tends to reflect the theology of "early Christians." " cenantibus autem eis accepit Iesus panem et benedixit ac fregit deditque discipulis suis et ait accipite et comedite hoc est corpus meum." (Mt. 26:26)
"This is my body." I, personally, don't see whats so complicated.
And by the way I will be partaking, but in a Catholic Mass for the first time.

I'll be going to the Easter Vigil where I'll receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. It'll be all night on the 10th of April. The 4th of April is the Palm Sunday of Our Lord's Passion; I don't know how the wt does the dates considering that the Jewish Passover is a few days after the JW "memorial" date.
"Take and eat. This is my body."

Not more socialist activities, but I think that Russia can be easily turned into a military dictatorship (not necessarily communist) considering that Russians as a whole want order and security and not democracy.
i find it funny how JWs act like they are the only ones in the world who are "persecuted." The 20th century is know as the Age of Martyrs in the Catholic Church; for fifty years its been under a ban in China where the Patriotic Catholic Association (a schismatic church set up by the communists) tries to replace the episcopacy. More Catholic priests were killed during the Spanish Civil War than the 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition (which was not run by the RCC but the Kingdom of Spain).
But anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that martyrs or the fact that one is persecuted does not mean that it is the "true religion."
